Écrire des tartines

  1. (French idiom) To be excessively wordy.
  2. (Literal) To write of tartines.

A tartine is a slice of bread with butter spread on it (tartiner is “to spread”). The phrase “bread and butter” in English signifies a necessity, a basic need, or a staple.

I’d like to think my blog encapsulates both meanings simultaneously.
